About

A day-use hot-spring bathhouse in the Akigawa Valley within a national park, a roughly 17-minute Nishi-Tokyo Bus ride from JR Musashi-Itsukaichi Station (get off right in front at the "Seoto no Yu" stop). A natural alkaline simple hot spring (pH 10.01) drawn from 1,500m underground feeds a source-fed indoor bath and an open-air bath overlooking the Akigawa Valley. A small outdoor sauna, shared by men and women, sits next to the open-air bath along with a cold bath. The facility also has the restaurant "Ishibune Dining," the rest-area cafe "Seseragi," a body-care room, free parking (135 spaces), and overnight cottages about 50m from the bathhouse building. Bathing admission runs on a 3-hour basis (extendable). Guests with tattoos, including cover stickers, are refused entry. Under a Tokyo ordinance, mixed-gender bathing is prohibited from age 7. There is no fixed weekly closed day; closures are announced individually via the official site's calendar.

Preschool children enter free, but anyone wearing diapers, regardless of age, may not use the shared baths and may only use the private baths.
