About

A day-use hot-spring bathhouse at the foot of Mt. Hinode, the gateway to Chichibu-Tama-Kai National Park, about 20 minutes by Nishi-Tokyo Bus from JR Musashi-Itsukaichi Station, right by the "Tsurutsuru Onsen" bus stop. A natural alkaline simple hot spring (pH 10.1, colorless, clear, tasteless, odorless) drawn from 1,500m underground supplies two bathing areas that swap between men's and women's use daily: the Japanese-style "Bijin no Yu" (rock open-air bath and sauna) and the Western-style "Shogai Seishun no Yu" (cypress open-air bath and sauna). The facility also has dining in a panoramic hall and large tatami room, a rest room and relaxation room, private rooms, and free parking for 130 cars. Open 10:00–20:00 (last entry 19:00); closed the third Tuesday of each month, plus two annual maintenance closures. Under a Tokyo ordinance, mixed-gender bathing is not permitted from age 7.

Hinode Town residents pay a separate flat rate (¥600 adult / ¥300 child, every day). Entering after 18:00 on weekdays costs a discounted ¥850 for non-residents. An 11-visit coupon book costs ¥10,500. Groups of 15 or more get ¥150 off (weekday) or ¥200 off (weekend-holiday) per person. A "Silver Discount" on the third Wednesday of the month gives guests 65 and older ¥200 off the regular rate.
